Wu Xu Lake

Despite the pollution in lakes around the big Chinese cities, China is vast and its remote areas still contain pristine lakes and waterways for exploration.

One such lake that I really want to explore is the remote Wu Xu Lake in Sichuan, which the local Tibetans called the "shimmering lake". Located as a beautiful solitute at 3660m above sea level, the temperature of the area is never above 5 degrees, even in Summer.

Created by underground spring water and melting ice, the water is crystal clear and the lake never runs dry.

I would take my kayak and tent, food, water purifier, camera, journal, perhaps make space for a few books, and spend the Summer exploring the lake and its surrounding villages.

You have pretty idea of where to go. Any space for another fanatic?

My blog is not kayaking or travel specific, more a way to reflect the messy way my minds works.

Glad to know more about more paddling opportunities, to see the world more before we go
