Khammoune Kayak Expedition, Laos

In a little less than 3 weeks, I would be in Laos for the Khammoune kayak expedition.

As with all plans, the latest version is the 12th one and it looks more likely to change as the days passed. The logistics list also looks increasing daunting. We might have to fly in our own canteen and enough lights for an indoor stadium.

I have never been to Laos and it seems a difficult place to travel, and certainly more expensive than the typical paddling places. Using the roads are expensive, permits, logistics, a pig's sacrifice (!?), just expecting lots of unexpecteds along the way.

The 3 basic needs are the hardest to fulfill - where/how/what to eat, sleep, and shit...

If all goes well, we will be exploring the 2 main rivers of the Khammoune province - the Hin Boun River and the Xe Bang Fai River.

These are 2 very special rivers in southeast asia, if not the world...
