Tasik Temenggor next weekend
Yay ! Finally going off for a few days of paddling next weekend - after weeks of indoors with the little one. Geoff has suggested Tasik Temenggor, a remote man-flooded lake near the thai-Malayan border. Heard the valley and its surrounding forests were flooded to flush out the communist insurgents hiding there in the 60s/70s. Now the Belum Valley area is considered a extremely precious forest reserve, much in the same league of Endau Rompin.
It will be a 10 hours journey from Singapore. And it is really a short trip, just 3 days friday-sunday. Who cares? The bus journey won't change anytime, and a few of the blokes are free at the weekend, forming a group of 4-6 folding kayakers. Perfect I would say.
Really looking forward to stretch those paddling muscles and be in the outdoors, breath some fresh air, and touch some jungle waters. Already dreaming of putting my paddle on those cool placid waters.
