Advance team in Basco, Batan Island

The first group of the expedition finally arrived at Basco, Batan Island this morning - with great relief. We only managed to bring 30kg of ration with us, with the rest of the 130kg marooned in Manila.
There is little chance of the 2nd group bringing the rations, as their luggage is already more than 400kg. The best scenario would be for SEAIR to send up the rest of the rations progressively over the next few days. Meanwhile we would just have to make do with what's available.

Expectedly the wind is strong and the skies alternate between threatening rain clouds and squirming sunshine. A good jacket is necessary for the chilling wind.

While the sea is generally calm on the leeward side of the island, it is pretty rough out at the open sections and on the windward coasts. Certainly the original plan would have to change... it is best to proceed with caution.
